My guess is it has something to do with Vista.....I've heard that Vista is a PITA with...well...everything.

I'm no PC geek so someone else will have to instruct you on a fix:-( However, I'm betting there's a Vista thread on the SOE boards somewhere......

It's getting stuck on a file that won't download or gets corrupted. Look very carefully above the big updating button, but below the EQ logo. There's a bit of illegible text that's supposed be a Download button. click that to retry the download. usually gets past it after a couple of tries.

I am having this problem now as well. I arrived back hom to a burnt out powersupply, and I replaced that. Everything now works on my computer as it did before, but when I download for EQ the download completes, and the button does not change from Updating to play. Confused

I have tried the little illegible download text three times, but it did not help. I guess I will keep trying that while I conetac customer support.

If you found a solution for it Pykex please let me know. If anyone has any other ideas I am willing to try those as well.

I got my problem fixed. I took the ruleindex.dat file from my laptop, which was letting me into the game. I then ran the patcher again and it now lets me into the game.

ruleindex.dat is an LON file. Looks like Sony has found a new way to make EQ buggy. Just attach another game to it.
