Posted: Fri Jun 03, 2005 6:09 am Post subject: Looking for an epic coordinator
Heyas,
As you guys may or may not know, Propertool has retired as epic raid leader and as a squad leader in Afterhours. This means we are left with a problem. Neither Korinne nor I have the time required to run epic raids in addition to the work we do with normal raids. So we are looking for someone (perhaps two people) that are willing to fill Propertool's shoes.
A few things you should know. Firstly, epic raids get very personal for people, and they get hurt when their fights do not get done. There have been situations in the past where we have had a fight scheduled and had to call it off because of not having the right mix of classes, or enough people to get the job done. You need to be able to tell them this and get them to understand, and it can be difficult. If you do not deal well with people, this is not the job for you.
Another thing to realize is that epics require a lot of bookkeeping. You are required to keep track of those who need fights, which fight they need, and whether they have met our requirements. Also, you will need to be willing to learn tactics involved with their fights and be flexible enough to apply those to AH. The tactics for a guild that normally fields 50 people a night and those for us who usually sit at 30 are very different. It will also be your job to make sure they have scouted their mob, done their turnins, know what the trigger phrases are, etc.
Lastly, you must be willing to make a time commitment. Fridays are fairly well established as epic night, and honestly they are a good choice because often many of the things we would want to kill are down. You must be willing to dedicate Friday nights to doing this. A night off here or there is no big deal, but you need to make a commitment to be online the majority of Friday nights and if you will not be online you must be willing to provide me with the tactics involved of what we are doing.
So with that said, if you are interested in taking up this position send me or Korinne a pm. Make no mistake, epic coordinator is a lot of work and it can be very stressful. However, it can also be very rewarding to know that someone got their epic because of a raid you organized. Hopefully we will soon find a new epic coordinator and will be able to resume these raids for our members.
