Hey all,
Was thinking about upgrading to a new computer and was wondering if anyone is running EQ with Windows Vista.
1. Does it run good?
2. Any new 64 bit cpu's to stay away from?

Any other info Pro's and Con's would be greatly appreciated.

I might get it soon. I've been putting it off with all the talk about how bad the DRM stuff is for video/audio files.

If you're wanting to go to the 64bit version, check for drivers for all your hardware first.

I am running the 64bit Vista just fine. ALL of the programs I use still work, including Everquest. There was alot of patching and still some tweaking to do get some of them to work with Vista, but the performance difference is well worth it. As Endiment said, definitely check out your drivers before deciding to go with the 64 bit version. There is NO support for legacy components. EQ slid right on into Vista though, no patching, duct tape, or baling wire needed. If you decide to build your own, send me a PM. Extremetech.com and Anandtech.com have some cool reviews. I just built a new rig that is super slick at a relative discount. It's a bang for the buck type box with the exception of my video card. Both AMD and Intel have some really good processors. You can't go wrong with either one imo. Though, Intel currently seems to be on top in price vs performance.

well not sure of the link but guessing it is the one that tells you to run eq on vista as administrator or could be the one about patching for dual core system...either way once that is done I've had little problems with eq...and I run two accounts on it most the time np...zoning is faster then my other pc even running two accounts..
