This discussion began in one of the app eval threads and we went off on a tagent so I've moved it to the general forum. A long time ago Elg said at one time that he'd love to see the screen everyone else sees when they play EQ, and I thought that was a fun idea.

HaHa Acoma I am up to 11 Tell windows. I have each of my chats seperated so I dont miss anything and do not have to scroll thru.

5 windows, of various sizes, is not too many, imo. Of course, I don't care about DPS so I've no window for my dmg/hits etc..

I so tried to have all the windows but it really takes away from the view of the game for me. Damn Laenyani, that is alot, I envision a sort of square peep hole in the middle of your screen surrounded by text. You should post a screen shot of your layout, maybe it could work for me.

Opacity helps too..and viewport. I resize the viewport and put some of my windows on the edges. I also use a custom UI...so that might make things different/easier. /shrug as long as it's workin for ya that is all that matters : )

Personally, I run no more than 3 chat windows at any given time. Instead, I setup an audio trigger for "tells you," and set it to a non-intrusive sound that I can hear anytime.

I only use 3 chat windows chat 1 is guild raid groupahraid ah heals afterhours chat 2 is gen chat zone chat class chat say ooc showt chat 3 is all hits spells melle incoming and out going my cat 1 window is large so i dont miss much

LMAO mine and Ww's looks almost exactly the same. I have 6 chat windows and 3 windows for spam

I am also in the maximum channels every night (10) and if I dont box I have to do without a few more that I cheat into Geurgh's windows. I currently play the game in "chameleon form"... one eye on one video monitor and one eye on the other monitor. I have done so for about 8years and my friends crack up on how efficiently I can play on multiple computers at once. Laughing

OMG what an eye sore. I don't know how people can keep track of that many windows. I only have 2. One for chat and one for battle spam.

I tried having different chats go to different windows but I need to see all my chat coming in order to one spot or I miss it, and don't know how long ago I did miss it ;p

Here's mine, but flickr shrunk it down, I don't have a tiny screen... and yes I always play in the 3rd person hehe

I use more windows but are minimized and invis, i like clear vision of game )

Edit: My resolution is 1680x1050 in both pc's, still searching for 1 new monitor with better resolution, if i travel to united states in august i try buy 1 new one 28" Smile

How can you read that.

lol, I use chatfontsize 2 so I can make my windows smaller. I want to see the train coming before it runs me over.

It's funny tho, I only posted aleax's screen but in actuality I see in trioptic stereo vision most of the time. By facing kopen and lifesource the right way I can even go 360 vision /boggle

My set is one CPU and one Laptop . I run My Laptop only for Internet Look ups etc and the Desktop is in Dual Monitor Mode running SLI which allows me to easily view two different Accounts of EQ running at the same time. I like the control of both with one mouse and keyboard.

As far as My screens Well I run Standard UI with 8 Chat windows. I like to try and monitor all the chats but some I do pay more attention to than others.
Depends on the character though. My warrior has dedicated windows for CHat and for NPC Enrage / Flurry one for Inc DMG Yadda Yadda Blah Blah But the Shammy is more CHAT Monitoring / Spells Worn Off / Spell Failures etc. but they both have about 8 windows up at one time.
