Monks
We will be reversing the AC mitigation reduction that you received during the Planes of Power era.

lol.
The day when monks become MTs in groups... The nerf back then was because the certain few can do it (i believe they said the top 5% of monks). Nowadays, there are uber equipped 10~12k monks. This game is starting to groom EQ2 monks.

Well this could all be very interesting. I like somethings they mention and don't like some other things. I am not entirely sure how to take some of the info.
1) Enc charms pet -- Pet is automatically buffed and all. Charm breaks and all buffs go away. In my opinion, halve the risk of charming is the chance of pet breaking it fully buffed and wreaking havoc. This change could definitely change everything about an Enchanter.
2) Monk AC Mitigation -- I agree this should be revamped. But, as Striding said above, what is this going to lead to? With the high end monks with uber HP/AC, and add the avoidance, could be asking for trouble.
3) Wariors/Pallies/SKs -- Hrm...We are all able to tank in all group situations. Well, just not sure about that. Of course, I am not the most powerful (or even close) SK and have not gotten everything I can get (AAs, spells and other new stuff) so maybe it is much better now. Will have to see.
Overall, I find it interesting how they addressed some things and then completly and utterly avoided some things with all their ability. We will have to see what happens.

In short : "We have made the game more like world of warcraft" would have covered those patch notes. _________________ Death awaits you all! With nasty sharp pointy teeth! |

Rangers
Rangers are good at many things and when all the parts add up properly, they’re a class that is in heavy demand. Our feeling is that the parts are not adding up properly in the current game. We are still digesting all of the DPS numbers and stats but in the meantime we identified a couple of things we can increase in the short term.
a. We will be improving the damage you do through spells.
b. We will be boosting your healing ability, particularly at the top end of the game.

All spells will check for immunity before they are cast. So if the target is immune, the spell will not generate aggro for the caster. |
Great - so all stuns cast specificlly for agro on immune mobs will Be USELESS. Not like the spells were/are worth anything anymore already, as most of the mobs were immune to begin with but -

We are changing many of the all-or-nothing immune flags so they mitigate the effect instead. We want you to use your abilities on most NPCs, but where we feel the ability might be problematic the ability will have a lesser effect.
|
So the mobs that were stunnable, will now be able to Mitigate Stun? best case scenario, our stuns work on everymob - a little, to none - but if they are immune, no aggro. and anything that is serious, and probably needs to be stunned will in fact be able to be stunned even less.

Hey guys-
Jus surf'n the web and read'n this post. Tumur, how well does the "limited defensive" ability work with SK's? I had a huge problem with high-end game mobs shred'n through me even with ALL the defensive aa's. Do they enhance knights tanking ability? Is it noticeable?

i group with a sk regularly...given he is one of the best but he can tank junk mobs in qvic and rss and rarely need healed at all anymore...its kinda insane. SKs have a ton of potnential now. _________________ Gimpermidget
