This is a little off (eq) topic but I thought I would share it with you guys here. When I woke up yesterday I had no idea what kind of a day it was going to be. I actually wasn't really looking forward to it since there was a long meeting planned that I didn't really feel I needed to be at and yet I did. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, during the meeting I was suprised by an unexpected announcement. The President of my college took the time to announce that I (and a few others) was receiving a promotion. Naturally I was thrilled by the news. Along with the promotion I was getting a raise. On top of that, this particular promotion would be awarding me Tenure (which basically means you would have to really screw up to lose your job after that).

Later I realized that I had recieved the highest of performance ratings for my job this last year (which is really hard to get here) and as such I would receive an nice little bonus check this summer.

It also started to sink in that it was the very last official day of class so that the end of the meeting marked the VERY FIRST HOUR of the VERY FIRST DAY of my summer vacation (I'm one of the lucky ones who gets all summer off). Yes Wdarby I suck.

As I was about to leave to go home it hit me that TODAY was PAYDAY (whoot).

As you can imagine I left work in a VERY GOOD MOOD.

On the way home I decided I felt like eating out so picked up Trib and I a couple of foot long Subway subs (we really like subway). While eating I decided to play around in EQ and go shard hunting. Went to Sanctus Seru and started pulling. 4th pull dropped my shard. Went to Maidens Eye and soon as I zoned in i noticed one of the named gurungas was up. Killed him and he dropped my shard. Zoned into akheva (where trib and hearrun joined me) and pulled. Second mob dropped a shard. 4 pulls later and we got another shard (Trib had hers already so we were done).

Later as everone is gathering for the raid I decide to detour to the Grey and wait till Korinne logs in to gate to the raid. Second mob dropped my shard.

Now by this time I was wishing I had purchased a lottery ticket before coming home. Its just been the best of days and couldn't possibly get better.

Well.....after we raid the sharpshooters Korinne starts asking what other targets are up. Not much and its kinda late so we want something fairly quick and easy. The next thing I see mentioned in the leader channel is "Soo...you guys know of anyone on thier final epic battle?"

Bout this time I stop breathing.

As most of you know we DID end up deciding to do the epic (loot was better and we had killed the Apha Feran so much this month that he got a restraining order against us while he went to counciling). Got my last epic piece, there were no deaths and a really really nice shield dropped.

What a wonderful way to end a wonderful day.

P.S. Oh yeah. I didn't die the whole night. /boggle

I would buy a lottery ticket after all that. I am glad to hear your day went so well. Everyone can use a day like that.

Ack, come to think of it I did die just before we left didn't I? Oh well. Par for the course.
