Master Vule the Silent Tear event is a P.I.T.A. to win, but once you get the strategy down it gets easier. To flag 60 people, you would need to kill Vule 5 times (he drops 2 eyes each time), and you would need 10 people to do all the previous quests to be able to hand in the eye.
First off, Vule has a limit of 24 people for his hatelist. If a 25th person enters the aggro list, whoever has the MOST aggro (aka your main tank) is going to get booted to Stoneroot Falls which sucks. Taking this into consideration, the raid should consist of at least 42 people, and even that is cutting it a bit close.
The setup should be something like this:
24 people for DPS on Vule, 12 people for clicking, 6 people for standby in case of tank deaths. Preferably there should be an additional 2-3 clerics for rezzes during the battle. Raid Leader for the fight should be someone who is not fighting, so that RL can shift people in and out of groups based on deaths and aggro.
The 2 groups of clickers should NEVER EVER get aggro. The main thing to remember in regards to that are AE beneficial spells, including auras. Any AE buff cast that affects the clicker group will result in them getting aggro, which in turn will either get them killed, or banished to Stoneroot Falls. Either of those will mean a wipe of the entire raid. In other words, do NOT TOUCH VULE. Do not TOUCH ANYONE WHO IS TOUCHING VULE. Gargoyle groups avoid aggro at all costs!
IF the clicker groups should get aggro, this should be announced in raid, and one or more of the rezzer clerics should attempt to camp out to be available for rezzes when the event resets.
In case of a failiure, Vule and his gargoyles despawn and the event resets in 10 minutes.
As for the strategy, this is how we did it:
Paladin pulled Vule from balcony and into the #1 alcove for a corner pin. Tanks fighting for aggro at all times, since Vule charms/memblurs. As soon as Vule was pinned, DPS moved in and burned him down. The actual fight is quick and easy with enough DPS. The hard part is managing the gargoyles.
Clicker groups: all must be able to communicate with each other so make a channel (ahclickers) and have all the clickers join this channel. What the clicker groups are doing is they are managing a mirror which will deflect a "death ray" emitted by the 'a twisted gargoyle' mobs that line the walls.
There are 12 gargoyles and they are numbered clockwise, so the first one
to the right of the balcony is #1 and the one to the left of the balcony is #12. The way you manage this mirror is by turning it with a lever. Once you enter Vule's room, you will notice a large stone in the middle of the room with a crescent moon on top and a wooden lever sticking out of it. This is what the clicker groups will concentrate on.
ONE person is designated to click the STONE. This moves the mirror to the correct position. The way to know the correct position is by watching the gargoyles. When one of them is about to fire its "death ray" it will turn red. The number of the gargoyle is then announced to the designated STONE clicker, who then clicks the stone the correct amount of times. There are emotes in yellow for which position the mirror is in, so no need to keep count. The person clicking the stone must be someone with a cool head, as you can't click too fast or you might click past the correct position, and if you click too slow, someone will die.
Now when the mirror is in the correct position, it needs to be activated by
clicking the WOODEN LEVER. This is where the other 11 people come in. The person clicking the STONE needs to announce in channel the name of the person next in line for clicking the LEVER.
Example: Gargoyle 7 turns red. /# 7 is then announced in channel (# meaning the channel number). The person designated to click the STONE then clicks until the message tells him/her that the mirror is directed towards position 7. He/She then announces in channel the name of the person to click the LEVER (/# SPONGEBOB for instance). This person then clicks the lever to deflect the "death ray".
What worked best for us was to have each person in the clicker groups assigned three gargoyles to watch, so 1-2-3, 4-5-6, 7-8-9 and 10-11-12 are always covered by the clicker groups. Each member of the clicker groups should position themselves so that they can easily see their gargoyles and still be in a position where they can click the lever when it's their turn. I found that scrolling back to third person view worked real well as I could then stand with the lever behind me but could still click it; also line of sight was less of an issue as I got a wider view with third person.
The 12 people in the clicker groups must NEVER take any aggressive action towards Vule or the gargoyles. No AE buffs, no heals, no dps, nothing. The ONLY thing those 12 people should be concerned with is the clicking.
Now, the reason there needs to be 12 people clicking is because there is a 2(?) minute lockout on the lever. I never did time it exactly, but I believe it is somewhere in the range of 2-3 minutes. If you have lockout and you click the lever you will get a message saying you are too fatigued to pull the lever. So in case the gargoyles turn red very quickly, there needs to be enough people available for the clicking so that the lockout has time to wear off.
Since Vule is undead, it is wise to put all available Paladins, Shadow Knights and Necromancers on DPS, in addition to the usual suspects. If the clicking is done correctly, the fight itself should not last more than 5-10 minutes, depending on DPS.
