Target Strategy
Redfang spawns after the last screecher bat is killed in the bat cavern.
An ear-piercing screech reverberates throughout the surreal cavernous Demi-Plane of Blood, announcing the arrival of Redfang.
He single-target rampages; hits for ~4500; spawns four blooddrinker bats (hit for ~2000; unmezzable; unsnareable) upon being aggro'd; and procs a frontal silence spell and an AE lifetap.
Four minutes after spawning, Redfang despawns. When this happens, numerous voracious bats (hit for ~1200; flurry) appear and attack.
One minute after this occurs, Redfang spawns again and must be aggro'd within a certain amount of time, otherwise the event resets. Rinse and repeat until Redfang is killed.
=======================
Okay Redfang's spells are...
Flapping of Wings (IRRESTIBLE)
1. Cancel Magic x 4 (four-slot dispel)
Siphon of Vitae
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 5500
Resist: Chromatic -500
Sonic Screech
1: Decrease HP when cast by 1500
2: Silence
3: Decrease Hitpoints by 1000 per tick
Resist: magic -500
With the initial four bat adds we will have paladins assigned to pull them away from the raid and root park. I've also been told if you blind them they will deaggro and just stand there but not sure on that.
Anyways, the rest of the raid will be on Redfang. When he despawns we will ae-stun/ae-root the little bats to get rid of them. Rinse and repeat until Redfang is dead.
I need to get more info on this guy.
took the above from the raid- o- matic
posting this to discuss the target .
i have done this target a few times but i'm a necro so i miss out on alot of stuff that dosen't concern me during the target but id like to add a few things i know . redfang can spawn randomly from any of the windows on the ramp or the arch at the top , the bats that control his spawn are just the 6 at the base but all hte bats need to be cleared . rf stays spawned for 4 min we burn hard for 3:30 then huddle up every one as close as we can . the bats that pop when rf depops pop where pcs are so for the sake of the druids and all else that are rooting the bats keep them together , i was reading that for the 2nd spawn and after rf is hard to pull as he summons not sure how that is done . hope this is readable im kinda tired at the moment and my typing/spelling isnt good whne im fully awake
Here's some info I found that supports the info Xenamten talks about.
General:
-Initial Trigger: We must kill all the non grey conned bats in his area to
------him
-First spawn is in window on ramp. The RT will pull him down ramp some
-After first spawn he will randomly spawn at the top of ramp or right
------outside the room, if he spawns outside the room the RT will pull him
------back up the ramp. If he pops up top a team of bards and monks
------will be waiting for him to pull down. The RT will meet him early to
------finish the pull.
-Postion: Tanked slightly up ramp, Clerics will be positioned so that they
------are directionally behind him off against the ramp. 30 seconds
------before despawn everyone but the MT will move to the center of room
------DPS 90 degree angle against wall, rogues behind tanks in front.
-Despawn: before despawn everyone will gather at the center; Mobs that
------die to root will pop on despawn.
-Bloodrinkers: will be pulled out and offtanked before dps is to engage
Specific:
-MT: keep him facing up ramp so that silence doesn't hit raid.
-Enchanters: 5 seconds before despawn start casting AE MEZ
-Druids/Rangers: 5 seconds before despawn start casting AE root
-Casters: When Redfang despawns start rooting Mobs that pop as fast
-------as possible Make sure to stay behind redfang to keep from getting
-------sileneced
-Monks: Figure out your highest ponit of safefall on ramp. When pulling
-------from top jump off to bring down faster and bring up ramp!! use
-------WS he backstabs
-Bards: Same as monks, be careful he backstabs
-First spawn is in window on ramp. The RT will pull him down ramp some
not true , at least not from my understanding , he can be random cna spawn form any window or the top of spiral , but im not a puller so i dont know 1st hand
Couple of observations after last night's attempt.
1) this can be a fun event, we've all got some learning to do
2) Redfang is hard to get agro and pull from a window. I found that going past the window a bit and being above him I was able to rid the message "You can not see your target" (or whatever it is)
3) Man, there were alot of voracious that hammered us, but, the AE root is a miracle!
4) The 4 Bloodrinkers can be effectively handled by OTs. It seemed to me that Redfang re-spawned after these were killed. Is that true, or was re-spawn on a timer?
5) If Redfang is not engaged within the time limit, he despawns and we get the voracious again. Oh joy. So, if we can minimize the deaths to the voracious, burn the 4 Bloodrinkers down and re-engage Redfang soon enough, we may have a good chance at him.
The 4 bloodthirsty spawn every time redfang does, and have a ton of hit points. Therefore killing them is pointless, as by the time they die redfang despawns, or we get so little dps on redfang the fight is basically unwinnable . Redfang himself is timed, both in his respawning and his despawning, so next attempt we will time him and have the raid huddle up for easy rooting when hes about to despawn . The voracious spawn on random raid members if you were wondering why the huddle btw. Also the bloodthirsty are rootable, so we will set the pallies on that duty, yay them ! I think with a few tweaks we have this fight easy _________________ The best leaders use the carrot and the stick. When elg does use the carrot, it's to pistol whip tanks into compliance

It seemed to me that most of the delay in this encounter is in finding redfang, tagging him, and bringing him back. In which case we could send up various people to the spawn spots and wait for him - either dedicated to that, or send them up slightly before he's due to shift there. I heard talk of pullers figuring out their safe fall spot so they can base jump down to the raid nice and fast. Depending on the pull class, DA falling would work too, as would clerics bestowing DA as they plummet.
What I don't know is does redfang's hp rebuild the moment he reappears? Is the idea that we have to return him to the raid and burn asap because we only have a short time to dps him? Or is it because after so many repeats he gets stronger, or some timer runs out or what?
