Dido, not sure how familiar you are with computer hardware so I thought I would mention what to look for.

Power supply's come in 2 basic flavors, a 20pin and a 24pin connector to be precise. If you remove your powersupply from your computer. it will have alot of power connectors for the different devices in your computer and one BIG connector that attaches to your motherboard. ( there may also be a small 4 pin connector that goes to your motherboard as well ) This big connector is the one that is either 20 or 24 pins and what your going to be looking for in a new power supply. Granted there are adapters out there to make a 24pin work on a 20pin motherboard but its best to just get the right one to begin with.

Also, make sure you have enough connectors of the right type for the devices in your computer. Newer devices use a SATA power connector which is very thin. Older power connectors are twice as thick and have 4 visable pins on them. This isn't a big deal but again, it helps to buy the PS with the right number of connectors on it to begin with. Check how many devices you have (if any) that use a SATA power connector and make sure your new PS has enough of that type to meet your needs. ( Otherwise you will be looking for more adapters to convert old style plugs into SATA plugs )

Anyways, hope this helps you get back up and running quickly. You know how in demand clerics are

I like Antec and BFG for PSU, personally. BFG has a Lifetime/Ten Year warranty on theirs ( have to register your product within 30 days ). Check em out http://www.bfgtech.com/

Daaaamn

Okay, I will shutup now as you obviously have the money for nice gear. SSD drives aren't cheap and to raid ( 1 + 0 I assume ) 4 of em together had to cost a bundle but would scream!!

P.S. I am a true BFG believer. Their warranty rocks and they back it up!

Hubby is the one who spent the $$ but things are a little tight right now but we will be getting a high end power supply

ps the price of of the drives have come down last time i looked they where on sale on new egg for $105.00 i also have a 1 TB drive for all the movies my husband rips off the blue rays

pss i think i will take your advice and get one of the power supply's you suggested most of them on that site look like the are the modular ones don't need any unwanted wires hanging around

30gb = ~$130

I just realized unless your running a hw raid controller, most motherboards will only let you do raid5 at most. Your hubby probably set you up with a raid0 which is the best performing raid but has no redundancy.

Still, I am jealous. I thought about going with SSD drives on my latest build but the price is still inhibiting when I can buy a 1TB Sata300 drive for a few dollars more than a 30gb SSD.
