From what I remember, you have to get a specific "version" of Catacombs and Sewers. I remember having to have someone zone in and check if it were a, b, or c. Have you been making sure you are in the right one? |

Yeah, there are specific versions you need to be in (they look different at the ent too). I'm not 100% sure on which is which, so someone more knowledgeable can fill in the details...... |

Catacombs and Sewers have a Pixxxt as as one of the names also for Catacombs the right one has a named Ukun as part of it.
However i have noticed the number of see-invis mobs has increased and the aggro range in Catacombs is ridiculous. |

You have to be in the "C" version of the instance to get the named mobs to spawn. |

Get a mission, zone in and then do a /who "yourname". If is says your in catecombC then your in the "C" version of the map and that is the correct one. Fight to the PH of the signet mob and just camp the area. Its extremely rare that he is up when you first get the map but my experience has been he pops 50% of the time or better once you start killing.
Sewers are the exact same way cept he pops about 30=40%. |

We just did this for Prettything last night, took 3 attempts to get the right map, then just let Culd train pull to PH. It took 5 kills of PH/named to get her signet, but it does work.

for both sewers and cats i got alots of place holders bafore i got the real guy and its a 20 min respawn timer.. so it may take i little bit but if you got the right instance and the right spot and some patiance you should get it _________________ And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming

If you have a tracker, you can just keep getting the mission till the actual named is up. I three boxed these two instances and didn't feel like sitting around waiting on the ph. After a couple of trys I was able to get the instance with the named up. Worked for me, but maybe I'm just lucky. /shrug |

When you request the instance from Grand Historian whatshisname he will mention two named individuals for both catacombs and sewers.
For catacombs you want to make sure you get the instance with "Elite Pixxt"
For Sewers you are looking for the one with "Ukun Sentinel"
As mentioned above, you can use a tracker and just keep requesting the instance until you can track the named upon zoning in.
What I wanted to add to this thread was a the technique Divinax and myself worked out for the catacombs instance. Basically this instance can be done in three kills. Catacombs has two see-invis rats that tend to cause problems with adds that can be overcome easily.
The way we did it was to use an SK / Bard team. The first rat is right by zone in and fairly easy to single pull. The second rat is the trick. I would stand in the corner near where the first rat spawns with invis up while divinax would use invis / invuln to pull the second rat to the zone-in. While divinax zoned out, I would snare the second rat and then FD while the resulting train of mobs reset. Then it was a simple task to kill it making it possible to invis all the way to the named spawn location. The named "Insidious Dragorn" stands right in front of a corner/cubby and can be corner tanked on the spot without agro'ing the surrounding mobs. Just make sure to stay tight to the wall and in the corner.
So far I have used this method 6 times in a row without a hitch and BOY does it save time.
Thats all there is to the patented 3 kill method, enjoy... |
