Am I missing something? Why don't people from AH use a voice chat? Seems this could help speed things up on raids. Has this been tried in the past? Are people afraid to say something that might offend others? Do people like the idea of not hearing other's voices? Just trying to get some feedback. We have offered the idea up several times before (we have a permanent Teamspeak server) without much of a response. |

I've done voice chats a few times in EQ, it CAN help coordinate things, but honestly I am just not into it. I have sound turned off altogether ( except for audio triggers ) for years and years of EQ play for a number of reasons, including not wanting to disrupt my household with a bunch of game noise.
That's just me. If you guys want to do it, great! Go for it. I'm sure it could help, but I won't be joining you.

Not only that but I am sure some of your voices are better unheard, lol.
You need to have a mic for it, yea no thanks, just something else my kids can tear up.
I guess I could turn in on again and listen to all the people that either have their input volume too high, ouch, or to low, huh. _________________ 85 Ranger|85 Shaman

After Hours raids late nights when many of us have family members and others in the household who are asleep. |

My problem is EQ's voice chat is buggy. Also, can't hear folks due to spell sounds.
I think this tower has Vent, though.
Just my 2 cp. |

We use to use Ventrilo but it is more memory consuming then Team speak. The EQvoice chat is always down and takes up a lot of memory as well to run. Personally I love my head set with mic attached and enjoy hearing others input on events.
Just remember that if it where not for voice chat we would never have known about LEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY JENKINS !!!!!!!! _________________

I've tried voice chats while leading and it's waaaaay too hard to do all the things I'd otherwise be doing And talk too. Ardy went through a phase of repeating instructions in voice chat, which was really helpful, but after a while I found myself even turning off the chat because it was distracting.
With several people unable to use voice chats or vent, it'll never replace directions given in text. But it would be a good place for people to chat and hang out, as long as you understand many of the management will sadly be too busy to participate _________________ http://www.spamhelp.org/harvesterkiller/ |

I also tried to use voice chat when it first came out. I tried to give directions in it as well but so many dont have the ability to use it (even in management) it just added more work imo. So you had to type instructions and then repeat them in chat. Its a great idea in theroy but unless every single member used it faithfully and it worked regularly its just another task. _________________ Laenyani
